Sand Springs Pool
Our Review
The Sand Springs Pool has been around for decades and evolved to entertain its visitors. Located in Williamstown, in close proximity to Williams College and a couple of pubs, it has its own action. With a spring-fed pool, this is the right place to unwind or shape a muscle or two. Heated at a satisfying 73 degrees, it is accommodating for both children and the elderly. It has seating areas close to the pools where an afternoon picnic can be enjoyed. This also gets the right amount of sunshine and allows parents to observe their children splashing in the pool. Swimming lessons and water-safety classes are offered here for adults and children alike.
For hundreds of years, locals have believed that the water in the pool has healing attributes and as a result, the pool has a long history. Start a conversation with a local about this interesting phenomenon when visiting. Forgotten your sunscreen? Not to worry, the pool sells a couple of products which are easy to leave behind when packing. The lounge chairs on the wide green lawn are perfect for kicking back to enjoy the ambiance of the pool. Local artists show up here on the weekends to entertain and this is a feature that differentiates Sand Springs Pool from other public swimming pools.
After visiting the pool, consider visiting The Clark Art Institute which is a walking distance from Williams College. The pieces of art there are both remarkable and great for educational purposes. They also have a great coffee place to try out. Hiking trails are also another feature that comes with this location so if you’re frequenting the Sand Springs Pool for fitness purposes, this will also help you on your quest. Williams College Museum of Art is conveniently located from here and admission is free. Grab a map at the kiosks near Hopkins and Lasell then enjoy a self-guided tour of the museum.
