Shire Breu Hous
Our Review
Located at the bottom of the renovated Stationery Factory, Shire Breu Hous has warm lighting and rustic interior decor which gives the place a “cool vibe”. They brew their own beer which is the codename for a full bar. Ask for a tour of the brewery during the day if you’re in a rush but are curious. During peak business hours you’re likely going to walk in and find a cozy fireplace surrounded by leather couches for those who don’t need a table. A loop of little white lights around makes the place pop.
It’s a good place to visit as a group or as a couple. Apart from musical nights that support local artists, you have the option to shoot darts or just play corn-hole. Their vast menu of beers is an absolute recommend especially because of the amount of traffic it gathers. The wine list is an alternative if you’re not very fond of beer. Traditional pub type of food such as salads and panini can be found here in standard portions. The wings and Shire burgers are customers’ favorites to try.
The Crane Museum of Papermaking is an afternoon activity to get busy with and learn a ton. They teach you the finer details of the US currency and how it’s made all for free. This place is 4 minutes from Shire Breu-Hous which means you can hang here then get into the nightlife at the bar later. Available from May through October, the Barrington Stage Company is a theatre that offers all-time classics, musicals, and thought-proving performances. If you love the stage and are easily enthralled by drama then this is the place to go after dinner at Shire Breu-Hous. For outdoor activities, Ashuwillticook Rail Trail has interesting scenery, benches, and picnic tables. It’s an excellent option for walking, running or biking because of the trails.
