Haven
Our Review
To call an eatery “Haven” and fulfill the true meaning of the word is no easy feat. That being said, Haven in Lenox has surely stepped up to the plate and delivered. This is arguably the best place to grab breakfast in the town of Lenox. The space is large, open, and airy, with plenty of windows to let in the natural light. The high top table section is great for grabbing a bite to eat and focusing on some work. Haven has an upscale, hipster vibe that blends well with the cozy character. It’s not unusual to see this place get a bit crowded, as it’s definitely a popular spot for locals. Haven is also locally owned and really captures the essence of the town.
The food here is delicious, fresh, and exciting (try the lox, onion, and egg scramble). There’s all sorts of meal options (gluten-free included), pastries, and drinks—all presented beautifully. The coffee is nice and strong, the lattes are amazing, and the tea is really refreshing and comforting. Oftentimes, there’s a bit of light music playing in the background, but it eventually gets drowned out as the lively crowds arrive. Just remember that there are no reservation options, and to arrive before the crowd if you don’t feel like waiting a little while for your food. Also, don’t forget to check out the bookshelf by the restrooms as well—there are tons of cool cookbooks worth looking at.
About 10 minutes west of Haven is Olivia’s Overlook. This is a wonderful destination that looks out over the Stockbridge Bowl. However, there are also miles of trails surrounding the overlook. The hiking is relatively easy to moderate—depending on your trail of choice—and has a pond, streams, bridges, vistas, and more.
