The Barn
Our Review
The Barn is a world-class, live music venue with great artists/bands, great food (try the shrimp tacos with a side of guacamole), big drinks, and legitimate old barn ambiance. Rock, folk, soul, reggae, country, jam, all of it from local talent and touring artists who just want to be in the Berkshires. There’s karaoke Sundays and open mic Wednesdays and a monthly comedy show. For those of us whose access to live music has been compromised by country living, The Barn is salvation. Shows generally start at 8 and end by 11.
Otherwise, there is a magic to The Barn reminiscent of the old Boston Garden with sightlines behind the hundred-year-old right center stage timber beam serving as obstructed view seating. Seams in the floorboards around the dancefloor are tripping hazards for the overserved. The walls are curated with unique memorabilia, the bathrooms are handcrafted, and a new balcony and outdoor deck new perspective and additional breathing room. There are friendly goats on the property as well.
Of note, we told Nick and Jenny that this was the kind of place that should be reviewed by Vogue Magazine on a list of best undiscovered treasures on the same week that this came out.
And if you’re looking for a place to stay (on the property), they also own the equally amazing Egremont Village Inn.
