Otis
About
Otis, a town in southeastern Berkshire County, has a great deal of nature-driven activities, giving it a very rural feel. There’s no shortage of ponds and lakes where locals kick back, float, and take in the beautiful landscape. The outdoor recreation expands beyond these feats as well. Otis has multiple camping areas, state forests, hiking trails, and is home to Otis Ridge Ski Area.
The town has been established since 1810 and has fluctuated on-and-off in population, staying relatively sparse. It was mostly a farming community at first with a few smaller-scale mills. Now, it offers a peaceful environment with a few tourist attractions. Route 23 and 8 intersect in this town too. Otis’ small town, easy-going vibe makes it an enjoyable area to live in and an excellent place to visit.
