The Cascades Trail
Our Review
The Cascades Trail is a quick 2.2 mile, out and back trail, just outside of North Adams, Massachusetts. If your dog is one that loves to tromp around in water, they will love all the babbling streams that feed from Notch Brook intertwined with this trail. Though the grade of the trail is mild, at times the path is rocky and you do need to keep a sure foot on the slippery rocks and stones.
Packing a punch, within a mile, you’ll feel transported into another world. Soak up the sun and tune out to the hum of cascading falls at the end of the trail.
Sprinkle a little more adventure into this trail by treading nimbly over the rocks towards the falls. There’s a nice little swimming hole to under the cascading water. Even those who don’t want to swim, can relish in the delight of cooling their feet in the freshwater.
Treat yourself to a pint at Bright Ideas Brewery afterwards!
When you arrive, navigate to the nearby YMCA as there is no parking at the trailhead.
