Our Review

Barrington Outfitters is wonderfully eclectic and exciting. This is because the store features a variety of clothing, footwear, accessories, and furniture—both for indoors and outdoors. It has been in operation and catering to the community for over 25 years, as it was opened back in 1994.  Richard and Peter Drucker—who are brothers—opened Barrington Outfitters with the love of Berkshire nature in mind. The entire family can come here and find something they want. The service is always amiable and accommodating. If need be, customers are welcome to have the staff place a special order (on shoes or furniture) to ensure that all needs are met.

This place is a must-visit for both the locals and tourists alike. Visitors can certainly make this place a destination and spend a good amount of time perusing the store. The owners, as mentioned, are local and actually own The Well (a great restaurant and bar, also a part of the Great Barrington community) in addition to Barrington Outfitters. When stopping by, don’t forget to find the sales rack at some point—it is alway filled with a variety of great deals. The shoe selection is expansive and perhaps the best in the Berkshires. The clothes are unpretentious and cater to authentic Berkshire County fashion.

If you are up to venture about 15 minutes in the southeast direction, Race Brook Falls in Sheffield is certainly worthy of a visit. Besides the lovely waterfall, of course, there are areas to hike and really take in true Berkshire nature along the way. Many people say that this area has a tropical ambiance in the summer, as the waterfall mist feeds nearby vegetation—adding to the lush and abundant greenery in the surrounding area.
