Bascom Lodge
Our Review
There’s plenty of things to do and see at Mt. Greylock State park, but the coziest might be sitting down for a meal at Bascom Lodge. This flagship property of the department of conservation and recreation was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930’s. The rustic stone and wood lodge, has vast hand-cut oak beams, and a beautiful fireplace. The lodge was originally built as a rest-stop for through hikers on the Appalachian and still has private and group accommodations for vacationers.
Porch aficionado's take note: Bascom Lodge has the most epic porch in all of the Berkshires. Enjoy a selection of local beer or a glass of the house-made sangria as the sun sets over the Taconic and Catskill ranges from 3,491 feet.
A member of Berkshire Grown the menu at Bascom Lodge features local and seasonal ingredients. Grab a breakfast sandwich before your hike, lunch after white water rafting on the Deerfield river, or dinner after spending the day at Mass MoCA.
